DIGITAL APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR CATEGORIES, ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA

  • AI Apprentice of the Year, supported by The Association of Employment Learning Providers (AELP)
  • Business Analyst Apprentice of the Year
  • Cyber Apprentice of the Year
  • Data Apprentice of the Year
  • DevOps Apprentice of the Year
  • Digital Degree Apprentice of the Year
  • Digital Marketer Apprentice of the Year
  • IT Infrastructure, Networks & Support Apprentice of the Year
  • Software Developer Apprentice of the Year
  • Software Tester Apprentice of the Year


Please complete on or before 22 March to enter Apprentice of the Year 2024 for your category.

Nominations are welcome from employers and training providers, or directly from digital apprentices.

For each award, the nominated individual needs to be participating in or completed within the last year an IT apprenticeship.

Shortlisted finalists will be announced in April 2024.

Shortlisted finalists will be invited to attend a 30-minute informal online discussion on one of these days. 14/15/16/17 May 2024, dates may vary and shortlisted finalists will be contacted with their assigned date and time.

Criteria

  • Entries must align to the apprenticeship standard the apprentice is currently on or has taken.
  • Nominators must name the apprenticeship standard/level the apprentice is on or has completed.
  • For those who have completed their apprenticeship , their entry will only be valid if they have completed within the last 12 months (January 2023 onwards).
  • End-Point Assessment dates must be provided, including the grade of apprenticeship awarded for those who have completed.

Nb: grades awarded will not be used for shortlisting and will be removed for moderation and judging purposes, this is only to check eligibility of the entry received.

The awards in these categories will be judged against these key criteria:

  1. Professionalism - how the apprentice has consistently met or exceeded their objectives and shown a quality approach in both their work and learning, demonstrating professional values and working practices.
  2. Innovation and adding value - how the apprentice has used innovative approaches as part of their apprenticeship both at work and in their learning. The action(s) taken by the apprentice to make things better.
  3. Role model - what actions the apprentice has taken that stand out and positively influences those they are working and/or learning with. The apprentice has gone above and beyond to be a role model for their profession and digital apprenticeships.
  4. Measurable success - how the apprentice has delivered at least one qualifiable benefit to their organisation in the past 12 months and can demonstrate how their personal development has the potential to positively impact their profession in the future.

Please complete on or before 22 March 2024 to enter the Digital Boot Camp Learner of the Year 2024 category.

Nominations are welcome from employers and training providers, or directly from government funded Boot Camp learners.

The award in this category will be judged against three key Criteria:

  1. Professionalism: the candidate consistently met or exceeded their learning objectives and demonstrated a quality approach and professional values.
  2. Role Model: the candidate stood out and positively influenced those they learned with, becoming a role model to others.
  3. Innovation: the candidate took an innovative approach to their learning and development.

Please complete on or before 22 March 2024 to enter the Digital T Level Student of the Year Award Category.

Nominations are welcome from employers and training providers, or directly from T Level students.

The award in this category will be judged against key Criteria:

  1. Learning and development: the student has consistently met or exceeded their learning and development objectives.
  2. Role Model: the student collaborates and takes actions that positively influence those they are working and learning with, whether in the classroom, in small groups or on a placement.
  3. Approach to work: the student shows commitment to developing their professional and employability skills in addition to their technical knowledge and skills.

In addition to your entry, you / your nominee can be entered into these additional Special Recognition Awards. You can replicate content from their original entry if applicable.

  • Competence: the nominee has continually demonstrated technical and practical skills and actively seeks to develop these.
  • Contribution: the nominee is utilising their skills to support and benefit the delivery of business services and /or the wider community.
  • Professional Development: the nominees has undertaken personal or professional development opportunities and used these effectively in their work practice.
